ABOUT
Sensei Heinrich Venter
My karate journey started when I was 8 years old and quickly grew into a passion that shaped many disciplines in my life. Through karate I not only found a sport that could teach me self-defence, but it also instilled in me a believe that I could achieve special goals through self-discipline, drive and dedication. I found some of my most dear mentors in the form of my Senseis, both as a youngster and as an adult who also continue to shape the way I live my life to this day. I always strive to have the same positive impact on the students I have the privilege of training.
In the karate dojo, we are all one big karate family. We celebrate each other’s victories and we encourage each other to bigger heights. If one of us are training hard for a competition, we are all training at the same level as a show of support. My aim is to create an environment at Winelands JKA where these karate values are taught and lived by its members every day. The karate classes are also the ideal opportunity for parents and kids to do an activity together that has no age limit and can really help them connect and stay active together.
